Brandon Porter | General Counsel

Brandon has more than a dozen years of experience helping clients with telecommunications, IT, data, and government-related transactions. He specializes in legal matters related to technology infrastructure and has successfully negotiated contracts with numerous Fortune 500, hyperscale, and carrier companies. Having worked for both the buy and sell sides of private sector companies and also for government agencies, Brandon’s approach to business challenges and opportunities is informed, thoughtful, and balanced.

Brandon’s private sector experience includes time as Counsel for CenturyLink where he supported the company’s 25,000-employee network team on various matters arising in day-to-day network operations and helped lead the negotiation and administration of communications infrastructure contracts globally. He provided comprehensive counsel on numerous matters related to federal, state, and local government land use, contracts, and relationships, and worked closely with the government affairs team on a host of pertinent legislative and regulatory issues.

Most recently, Brandon held the post of Chief Counsel – Public Sector at the privately owned IT and telecom solutions company, World Wide Technology. In this capacity, Brandon led legal, compliance, and strategic aspects associated with the company’s multibillion-dollar public sector business unit. Prior to his time at World Wide Technology, Brandon served as Assistant General Counsel for the publicly traded information services company, Equifax.

Brandon began his career in the federal government, holding positions including JAG attorney for the US Air Force (USAF), Special Assistant US Attorney for the Department of Defense (DoD), and Deputy Legal Counsel for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). In these roles, Brandon oversaw disposition of hundreds of cases and administrative matters and began honing his skills in technology contracting, procurement, compliance, and land use, among others. At DISA, he served as lead counsel during all stages of information technology and telecommunications procurements for the DoD and successfully represented the DoD before the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) in numerous bid protests and disputes related to technology contracts.

Brandon earned his JD from St. Louis University School of Law and his Executive MBA degree from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
